MITZVAH PROJECT
As part of becoming a Bat Mitzvah, Emmy will participate in a Mitzvah Project. This project encourages her to engage in one of the most important values of Judaism – repairing the world (tikkun olam) and compassion for others (v’ahavta l’rayecha kamocha).
Supporting the Smile Farm at
Animal Assisted Happiness (AAH)

For my mitzvah project, I wanted to work with animals. As it turns out, volunteering with AAH not only lets me hang out and help care for all the different animals on the farm, but I also get to help kids with special needs. AAH gives kids with needs the opportunity to visit the Smile Farm. They also send their animal ambassadors out into the community and run a vocational program to help older kids develop life skills. AAH depends on donations and volunteer hours to stay open. I am really happy to help them both raise money and with my time.
